New Scirocco Official Pics

I've posted about this car before, that seems to have been in the works since 1989. It looks like it's finally got it's production clothes on, but still doesn't appear to be making it's way across the pond. Haven't read the release date plans yet, but I'm hoping they change their mind and make it available over here.

If you jump through, you'll get to see the most hideous leather seats ever...

VW Passat R32 Wagon (or estate if you can actually buy this)

Although the last Passat was a fave of the wife, the new one is a little on the jelly mold side of curvy for her (and me too if I'm honest, although it does look better in person than in the pics). Anyway, this one is definitely out for her, as "wagons" fall in the same catagory as minivans - not now, not ever, even if it's an RS6 or anything, just no.

But, I'm always a sucker for fast versions of normal cars, so for your enjoyment here's an ad from over there (I know Lauren, not yours, you never read the car bits, but welcome back - glad the bomb missed you, we were panicking this morning....)

Oh, an djust for the record, I saw my first R8 today on the roads - those LED's on the front look pretty schweet. He must have been still running it in though, as he let me slide past on the way up to the mountains without even a brief tussle.

Golf R32 Coming to the US (part 2)

So finally VW have confirmed that the R32 Golf is coming across here in it's latest form. The last one was the subject of an almost purchase by me (but defaulted to the STi), and from what I can tell from Ebay, they're holding up their value remarkably well.

The reviews from the UK on this one haven't been so kind (save your money and get the GTi was what Evo said), but 4 wheel drive is a compelling reason to consider any car here in Denver, especially after the last couple of months we've had. However, I'm sure the last one had a little bit of flareage going on down the side, and from what I can see on this one, it's nowhere to be found. The other thing that might be an issue is you can't get this in manual (stick shift) - the only option is DSG (dual clutch, paddle shift, playstation stylee). It's apparently a great gearbox, but the choice would be nice - I guess the 250bhp in a little pocket rocket will have to do all the persuading for you.

Anyway, coz there's only 5000 coming, VW have opened up a site to register if you're interested.
