Finally Did It

I'm in the process of trying to end my addiction to DVD's (over 700 currently in the collection according to Delicious Library) and so have joined Netflix, where the purchasing will be replaced with a steady stream of (hopefully working) DVD's in the mail. Now I have to decide whether or not I need a new external hard drive or if my current system will hold out. Only time will tell.

Does this mean you'll stop giving me shit Nick? ;-)

Movie Studio Does Something Sensible?

Finally, it looks like one movie studio (Fox) has actually been listening to it's customers and is about to start including an iTunes (and iPod, AppleTV etc etc) copy of the movie on the DVD itself. This will save me hours of time instead of going through the usual Mac The Ripper to Handbrake to importing process that currently occupies my computers processors for large periods of their life.

Here's hoping the other movie studios do the same thing, and quickly. The amount of electricity this will save is going to be so big, we can all feel we're doing our bit for the environment and saving the world, without actually doing much at all (just like those light bulb replacements we put around the house).

Die Hard 4 Trailer

In case you haven't seen enough sequals, here's the trailer for Die Hard 4 (or Live Free or Die Hard, as it's apparently correctly titled).

I'm actually quite looking forward to this one - the Die Hards have been one of the few movie franchises that at least matched the original, and in some cases bettered it. Here's hoping this one keeps it up.

Kiss the Ground Halle

Strangest pic of the day goes to Halle Berry. Getting a star in Hollywood apparently drove her to get to her knees and kiss the ground. At least it gets her pic back in the press - has she done any movies lately that were any good?

Jim Carey in a horror/suspense film?

Is anyone else having a hard time imagining Jim Carey playing it straight in a film? I know I am....
