Christmas Eve
Just trying to catch up after a few days of not touching the web, so lets start with Christmas Eve. We were heading over to Heidi's parents for Christmas Day, so we met up with The Thompsons for dinner, and then a tour around Lights at the Zoo. This was the first time I had been to this, and it was actually pretty cool - lots of pretty lights, a few animals, and the popcorn was warm and sweet - just the way I like it. It also happened to be bloody freezing, but i was lucky and found my snowboarding hat in the pocket of my jacket, which probably saved my life. Oh yeah, and the heated seats in the car on the way home.
Anyway, had a blast hanging out with Meaghan and Holly, who even managed to persuade me to jump on the merry-go-round for the first time in about 20 years. The monkey seat I sat on definitely helped!

Vacation (holiday) update
Having far too much fun to be writing blog posts, so here's a quick one just so I don't feel too guilty. We're currently in Center Parc near Penrith, where remarkably the rain has held off since yesterday, and we've been aimlessly wandering around all the things you could do if you were the type to enjoy a bit of exercise on holiday. Of course, we ended up in the pub at 2 o'clock....

Had a hectic weekend, with Daniels Birthday meaning karting and a trip to the Metro Center on Friday, followed by curry and beers in the night. Saturday was lunch with friends and kids at Shire House Farm, and then a night out on the Quayside, hitting Pitcher and Piano for the first time in a while, and then making the usual culinary mistake of a kebab fully loaded with chilli sauce (it always tastes great at the time, and you realize your mistake the next day).

Sunday was Matthew's Birthday, and we all headed to St James Park for a great Sunday lunch, and then a tour of the ground.

Got a couple of more days hanging out here (we might even make it to the swimming pool tomorrow, you never know), and then off down to London for a Thanksgiving Dinner with friends, and then hopefully meeting up with lots of other friends as well. We'll see how that goes. And obviously, going to be in desperate need of some sleep by the time we get back to Denver....
Plenty of photos are up on Flickr here if you really must.

JB and Susans Wedding

We were honored to get an invite to JB and Susan's wedding last weekend in Tulum, Mexico, so headed down there with a bunch of friends to celebrate on the beach with them. There were the usual shenanigans, a corking best man's speech, and loads of people from around the world to help get through Mexico's supply of tequila (we failed) and dance on the beach into the wee hours (we succeeded).
As you could see from the previous post on the trip, Al Brown made an appearance with his dancing shoes, although the prize for the most dancing of the night had to go to Lindsay who didn't appear to stop at all. Pete took a load of high quality pics as usual, and Nixta was the reddest I've seen him in a long time.
Other noticeable events - Neil managed to keep his hair decorations in the whole wedding night, and I managed to snap my favorite shots so far of Lauren and Ally.
And I danced. A lot. But survived.
Mr Flannery and Kelly couldn't make it due to the recent addition to the family (Hi Tessa) so I made a (pretty poor) attempt at the famous Flannery Fly By approach to wedding videos....
