In response
To Mr Batty's valid comment to the earlier post about the jet pack, and all of the demo videos are just of guys hovering around a little, rather than going anywhere, the one below popped into my RSS reader today. Not only does it show someone actually travelling using one of these things, it actually races a brand new Focus RS - not the slowest car in the world. Now, the jet pack itself is different to the one below, and this one apparenty is a "race" version, that only carries about 30 seconds of fuel, but it still looks kinda cool to me....

Focus RS - US Bound?
Once again, the rumors have started. Now that I think Ford has confirmed they're not going to fall off the edge of a bankruptcy cliff, and that they're bringing over the Focus in de-tuned form, we have the whisper of the RS making it to these shores. Given the pretty amazing reviews that Evo Magazine gave it back home, if the price comes in somewhere in the reasonable range over here, it might be somewhat tempting as my daily driver. It's even got the ready made snow shovel on the front for those Colorado winters (or spring this year I guess). Now, orange or green?

More Small Cars in the US - Fiesta and Maybe the Fiat 500!
It looks like the success of the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit over is having a big effect on the plans of some of the other automakers. Ford announced yesterday (I think anyway) that the European Fiesta is going to be coming across at the end of next year, while the CEO of Fiat sort of maybe suggested that they might start selling the 500 over here (which I think is probably my current fave in the small car world, although it's Fiat, so it'll break down and rust to nothing in no time, so I probably wouldn't buy one). No word on this version though.
